I Love the Tanning Oil and the After Sun Tan Sealer. It is the best lotion out there and I would love to be able to get a big bottle with a pump so it last all year long. Thanks You for making a great product.
Working outside all day, I’ve had my share of sunburns. The Burn to Brown can’t be beat. My wife introduce me to it when we were married 3 years ago, after she picked up a bottle from a recent trip to Maui. Well it’s time to reorder. Thanks again. I thank you, my next door neighbor thanks you, my good friend Terry thanks you and the other people I gave relief to by letting them borrow our bottle.

I bought my first bottle of the secret browning formula while visiting Maui in 2003. I swear by it for the best tan. I live in Virginia and have added many family members as fans – they always borrow it when we take our annual beach trips. I have been back to Oahu over the past 2 years and can’t find your product…just knock-offs. I will continue to order and hope to get back to Maui soon!
I have been ordering Maui Island Secret for years and have introduced several friendsto the lotion as well. I am fair skinned and always end up with the best tan after using this product. I just wish you still had the “buy any 3 products, get one free” promotion.
My son is very fair skinned. He burns so very easily that the Burn to Brown formula is a regular staple in our household.
a few years ago my girlfriend came back from a trip to the islands and brought your product back. I fell in love with it and since have ordered it. I use all the tanning products from the browning formula to the 15 and after tan. I don’t burn. Being a strawberry blond, that’s great. I use the after tan all year long. I can’t wait for my next order. Wanting to try the shower gel now. Thanks for a great product.
I first purchased this product in a beach shop while visiting Topsail Island in North Carolina. I purchased the Browning Formula and LOVED it!!! I then did a mail order and received the spf lotions and after care products and loved all of it. I would be so disappointed if it wasn’t available anymore so please continue to carry this product and don’t change a thing. Well, except the website which I have to say is sooo much nicer. found lotion at a longs drug store. Tan lotion and after suntan,brown to burn. I like the natural ingrediants,the aroma,how smooth and silky it feels.the sun tan that I get using #5 is awesome. I use the aftersun tan all year long. Normally after the summer season my skin gets real flakey almost like I am shedding. and since I have been using these products(for 5 or 6 years now)that doesnt happen.

Was so excited to get your email! My husband and I honeymooned in Maui and that’s when I became addicted to the original tanning formula. I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. I’m down to a little itty, bitty container with maybe 5 Tbs. left, so trust me, I’m ordering right away. I want to try the tanning sealer as well. Glad you are back!!!! Your product cannot be beat!!!!!
MY husband and I had our honeymoon in Maui in 2002 and got sun poisoning our third day there. We were looking desperately for a burn spray but couldn’t find it. We found the Burn to Brown Gel in a local store and ooohhhhhh it felt so much better. To this day I use it for shaving burns, chapped skin, bug bites, you name it! This stuff is amazing! I probably buy about two bottles a year since someone always steals one from me. I’m in love with your product!
My family and I were vacationing in Maui in 2007. We went shopping in Lahaina and we found the Browning Formula. We decided to give it a try, but we were skeptical. But after using it while there, it was WONDERFUL! After we got back home to Indiana, we received so many complements on our tan. I normally BURN no matter what I use. But with your Browning Formula I didn’t. We couldn’t wait to order more from the website, and found we were ordering for our ENTIRE family. We are now once again running low, so we will DEFINITELY placing an order for more, and also are going to try your After Sun Tan Sealer. I know it will be just as wonderful as the Browning Formula. Love your oil and your browning formula have brought these products about 8 years now. would not use anything else. I just love your products I use your products in the tanning bed works greats. keep up the good work. Loooking forward to see whats new.
I don’t travel much but my cousin does and always brings me tanning products from whereever she visits. The Browing Formula was the first she brought me about 6 years ago and I won’t use anything else. Not only do I use but all my son’s friends always want me to “hook them up with some Maui”. Needless to say I do order every year and plan to continue to do so. I also agree that a spray bottle would be great. Thanks
Years ago when I had a horrible sunburn, my friend insisted that her Burn to Brown would soothe it. I loved how it transformed my aching skin that I thought would peel for sure into a calmed even brown! Now I use it all the time, since my fair skin burns easily. I took it on a houseboating trip with my whole extended family, and they were shocked to see how well it worked after several hours of wakeboarding and boating! They actually asked me where they could find some, and I was so proud to recommend it to them. I will never be found without this amazing product in the summer!
I vacationed in Maui in 2004 with a friend that has a time share on the island. She told me about the products and this was the first thing I purchased after arriving. I tried the tan sealer and the browning lotion and feel in love with the products and the fragrance. I have continued using them over the years and still love the products.

I love the after sun tan sealer. Please don’t change it! I can’t tan, I have vitaligo, but I love the sun and I love to body surf and swim. This lotion soothes my poor whitey skin and I love the smell!

We were married in Maui in March 2007 when we found Maui Island Secret. It is the best tanning product that either of us has ever used. I tan easily and my wife always burns. Now both of us sport a beautiful tan from the first day in the sun! We live in Ohio and the winters turn us white as the snow. Please get the word out about this product!
I’ve been using maui island browning formula for about 5 years now and love it! I’ve shared it with people and they love it too! Most of my family uses it and many of the other great products you offer also. It’s the best tanning oil out there and it smells great to! Will I still be able to buy 3 get one free?
We found Burn to Brown at a drug store in Hawaii and the name sounded way more promising to our red bodies than Burn to Peel, our usual cycle, so we gave it a go. It really helped our entire family and it’s so much more effective than any other aloe product we’ve tried. It really delivers everything it claims.
I’d love to see a product with some serious SPF in your line. 45 would be a nice start, but at the very least, 30.
We have been fortunate enough to visit Hawaii – Maui in particular – the last 7 years. On our last trip, I got a little burnt and used the Burn to Brown Formula which I found incredibly soothing, as did my husband. Once the burn receded into a tan, we both used the Tan Sealer with great success. On returning home I usually start peeling within hours of being exposed to this very dry northern climate. But I have been back since May 18 and so far my tan is intact and there hasn’t been a single peel. I am recommending your product to all my friends! Aloha, and MAHALO! :-)
I feel in love with Maui Island Browning Creme SPF 5 when I visited Maui three years ago. I live in Alberta, Canada where the it is dry and cold in the winter and dry and warm in the summer. I use the Browning Creme in the winter as a daily moisturizer, under my makeup and in the summer on it own. I love it, my skin is soft and smooth. I even use it on my face. No more dry skin. I have used all of your products fro the past 5 years when we vacationed on Maui in 2005. A year later we moved to Oahu and continue to use all of your products. Wish I could find them in local stores on Oahu but will continue to order on line. I amin the sun daily just about every day of the year either running, swimming or just relaxing. I have not burned while using your products. My skin doesn’t dry out or flake. I love the after sun sealer and the shower gel. Please make a browning formula higher than SP

I love this product. I first found it in 2001 on my first trip to the islands. I have been using it since. I always buy several bottles of the oil when I am on the islands. I am in Maui now and have now tried the tan sealer and I love it as well. I will be ordering refills of that lotion so I can use it all year long. Love all of the products that I have tried. I first found out about your product when on Oahu in 2004, I also got engaged on this trip. I found it in an little store there and fell in love with it. i love the smell and the non-sticky non-greasy feel. The after tan lotion is amazing. I use it year round. On my honeymoon in 2005 we purchased more, I ran out a while back but a I couldn’t find it anywhere. I was very sad about it until on an off change i searched it today and the site popped up!! Needless to say I am very happy and ordering several bottles. THANK YOU for such a fantastic product!

I have been using Maui Island Secret products since ’02 and I love them! The tan sealer is fantastic, I like the scent and the non-greasy feel…most of all I love that it works! I love the aloe gel and the browning formula too!

My daughter and I purchased the Browning Formula on a trip to Oahu in 2004. It’s the best we have ever used and we love the smell. I hope you never stop making the product and we will now be ordering it over the internet since we live in Minnesota and not sure where I could ever find it here.

Glad I looked this up. I recently ran out of the bottle that we bought of the Burn to Brown when I was in Maui with my family YEARS ago. The bottle lasted forever, and never seemed to lose its ability to get rid of burns quickly. I will be ordering more. I burn quickly, and never brown, and this is the only stuff that I have found that makes the burns I do get any better.

I went to Maui 4 years ago and bought a bottle of the browning formula and burn to brown. Being fair skinned, I was willing to try anything. After my first use of the browning formula I thought I was going to be miserable. I was as red as a lobster, but the burn to brown does wonders. For the 1st time in my life I actually had a tan! Now I use it every summer…I love it! Thank you so much!!! Don’t stop making this product1!!
I have been using your products for many years as well, though I believe my first purchase was from the Big Island, and since via the Internet.
My favorites are the Browning Creame w/SPF 5 and the After Tan Sealer, though I have just ordered some other products to sample. Not only have I found the tan and moisturizing great from the Browning Creame & Sealer, I love the scent, AND the products do not break out my hyper-allergic skin, and the scent is wonderful, but not overpowering where it could trigger migraine headaches, which is pretty unique in my many years of experience in seeking good products. I am not fair-skinned nor dark, but my skin will not tolerate many products, natural or otherwise, and to prevent migranes, the scent must be subtle – Maui accommodates all of that, where few products do.
Despite the above, I love the scent of the two products I mentioned, and was disappointed the SPF 8 did not have the same scent – it was too strong and I couldn’t use it. I’d like to see that scent become the signature scent of the Maui Island Secret products so we can all expect the same wonderful experience in each product (sensitive skin can expect similar success with each), and we can have the Island Experience, wherever we use them.
I was interested to try your bath and body line when I ordered this time, but nothing was in stock. I would like to request email notification when it becomes available for purchase.
Also, there were several references on this blog to tanning oil, and I have no idea what this product is, and I did not see it on the site. Spray-on products (especially dry oils or gels) are much easier to apply effectively, and is an improvement I would welcome. Can the Browning Creame be converted to a similarly effective spray-on oil?
A high SPF lip balm (w/the Maui Island scent) would be a great product, along with travel-sized options of the others in a similar high quality container, but 3oz (empty or pre-filled) that your customers could use to carry their Maui Island products onboard aircraft when going on vacation or take on a short trip.
I recommend a build-it-yourself “travel kit,” with 3oz bottles (for lotion, spray-on products, etc. that are replicas of your larger bottles w/labels, where we could purchase the tanning product(s) of our choice, the after tan cream and/or burn to brown, shampoo, conditioner and/or sun product for hair and lip balm w/SPF – everything a traveler would need for a sunny vacation. If you market these in a TSA-approved sized see-through durable bag that lays flat (same dimensions in length and width, except deeper than a quart baggie) and allow your customers to pick the products they want in bottles they can fill and refill easily with bigger verions of the products, that could add a whole new dimension to your line and fill a great hole in the market. I travel with a bag like this and it fits a ton of stuff, and have no problems – it zips around the side and front sections and the cover lifts up for full access. This way, other necessary products like toothpaste can be added.
Most of us travel to get some sun, and having products in 3oz versions of your current high-quality bottles available for those who carry-on or take weekend trips to the beach would be invaluable to spontaneous and experienced travelers.
I wish you luck. I love the products I’ve used, and will be testing several more soon, which I hope to love equally well.
I do agree your customers have come to count on the three-for-one deal, so you should come up with some sort of incentive for repeat customers if you can’t financially justify that particular package. Examples that appeal to me are a free travel-size product/bottle consistent w/a purchased product, samples of new products (like a lip balm w/SPF), discounts/benefits for orders that exceed a certain amount, enabling customers to create an account and rewarding repeat customers who build points based on money spent, after which you send something to them when their orders exceed a particular threshold. I’m sure you’ll think of something that will satisfy your loyal customers, while keeping your business profitable.
I request to be notified when the bath and body products are back in stock. The Web site is better, but when you’re out of something, I think customers should have the option to advance order it w/a date estimate of availability and receive it once in stock. We should at least request notification once a product is back in stock.
Allowing us to order in advance will provide you with the benefit of the advance sale income, and assure us we will get our product (happier customer) and prevent the inconvenience of forcing busy people to stalk your website in hopes it’s back in stock.
Finally, if you plan to go out of business (I and many others hope not), please notify me so I can stock up.

Please don’t discontinue the Hawaiian Sunlight hair product! My daughter brought it back from her honeymoon and we are both avid users now. We get just the right lightening in the summer and lots of good conditioning! Hope it’s available again soon! Thanks.
We visited Oahu for our 20th anniversary in 2007. I found your product and fell in love with the fragrance. What was better was the tan that I got while there. My daughter used something else and she got nowhere near as dark as I did and suffered a sunburn, and she is naturally darker skinned than I am. My husband loves the coffee and I have been ordering that for him since our visit. I use MIS exclusively for all my tanning needs, indoor and outdoor. I also have recommended it to many friends who were sold the first time they used it too! Awesome product! Wouldn’t tan without it!
While spending a fun weekend on Sanibel Island in Florida we needed to shop at the grocery for a few things. I wanted a quality suntan lotion of some sort and decided to try your Secret Browning Formula. I have a good base tan on my fair skin and I didn’t really think I could get any browner than I already was! But…after two short afternoons of about an hour and a half each…I am truly a bronzed goddess!!! Thank you so much for the great product. I will use it whenever I want a rich, deep tan!
